Experience: All phases of underground construction, cable
splicing, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of POTS lines,
installation and troubleshooting UDC’s, cable locating, wiring single family
and multi-family housing, extensive experience in communications construction
inspection, drafting, reel and span testing, and splicing of Fiber Optic
cable. Outside plant engineering and design for both aerial and underground
copper and fiber optic cables. I have done “remote” engineering projects
where I am located at home and the work sight was in New Mexico and Oklahoma. Summary of
Training: Training provided by US West/Qwest is as
follows; 965TD, working aloft, defensive driving, I & M training, and
pole climbing, cable locating, fault locating, soil analysis. I also
completed “Concepts of Electricity” through Century College in White Bear
Lake, Minnesota,(correspondence course). Also a number of safety sessions on
Burlington Northern, Union Pacific, and several other railroads. I began
working in the telecommunications field in 1978, in Alliance, Nebraska
placing cable, conduit, and manholes, as well as buried service wire
placement on Northwestern Bell property. I have been in and around the
industry for 36 years, and I enjoy the work I have chosen. I am very good at
OSP Design, and I also enjoy working with customers in installation and
repairing trouble on their premises. I am including a listing of the various

Performed all phases of underground construction
including pipe pushes, drops,
manhole placement(both poured and pre-cast), conduit construction, concrete
placement, cable plowing and sign placement. 1983-1992
Performed cable locating duties for Mountain
Bell, Sprint and Lightnet. I also
Worked as a construction inspector on Sprint, AT&T, GTE and on various
REA
properties. My duties included mainline plow, conduit construction, manhole
place-
ment, cable pulling, maintaining legal diaries and all the necessary
billingpaperwork.
Duties also included As-Built drafting, re-drafting other inspectors

Re-routes for cable moves and route alternatives and bridge attachments. 1992-1994
Performed fusion splicing on CATV and REA
fiber projects, including pigtail
splicing, using Siecor M67 and M90 Fusion Machines. Also mechanical
splicing using
Fibrlok Connectors. Reel and span testing with Laser Precision and Tektronics
OTDR’s
and power meter/light source testing. 1994-1995
Worked on Sprint property in Illinois installing
new connectors for SONET. Work incl.

I also worked as an inspector during this
this time on MCI construction in Nebraska and Illinois, working mostly with
directional boring crews. 1995-1996
Worked on Century Telephone property doing
cut-over, preparing cut-over sheets, cable address verification, minor copper
splicing, taking noise measurements, running jumpers
at remote CO’s(slicks) and working cable throws. Also worked on AT&T
construction prop erty as an inspector, working with dig-down crews, cable
pulling and final clean up. Then
went on to other AT&T projects construction staking. 1996-1998
Worked as a construction auditor on a Frontier
Communications/Qwest fiber optic project. Also worked as an incidental
for USWest Communications in North Platte, Nebraska locating cable and
replacing damaged terminals. Also worked on AT&T property on a coaxial
cable removal project in Wyoming and Northern Nebraska. Duties included cable
locating, route
staking, final clean up, re-seeding and cable removal supervision. 1998-2002
Worked as a regular employee of USWest(now Qwest)
Communications as a network tech in Ogallala, Nebraska, then in Farmington,
New Mexico. Duties included installation of primary and secondary POTS lines,
jack installation, trouble shooting, repair, terminal rehab, etc. Splicing
damaged cable, locating, aerial drop placement, UDC installation etc. 2003-2005
Self employed doing communications work in
central Nebraska, as well as an electrician apprentice. I also worked on

I worked for Qwest Communications as a network
technician, only new skill was DSL
installs My job was eliminated in March of 2008. 2008 -2009 Worked as a Field Engineer(OPT) for Windstream Communications in the
Hobbs, NM office. Duties included DSL qualifications for customers, DSL
pre-qualification for terminals, Field checks on cable counts and
height. Design aerial and underground cable runs, including fiber optic
cable. Duties also included using Micro Station CAD Drafting, Field View
corrections,
cable assignments and field meetings with customers and cable techs to clarify
and resolve cable issues. Duties also included investigating court records on
property owner ship. Also worked on “FTTP” and comparisons between Copper and
Fiber fed subdivisions. In February of 2009 I had to return to Nebraska as
our house didn’t sell and we could no longer afford “dual” housing
arrangements. 2009-2010 I worked as a subcontractor on Windstream Communications
property doing
OSP Design in Northern New Mexico and Lincoln Nebraska. Projects
included Fiber to the Remote, held orders, and copper replacement. Much
of the work was done in accordance with Indian reservation and power ROW,
included securing permits and drafting. 2010 I worked on and completed several FTTH projects in Eastern
Colorado. I also worked on AT&T property in Tennessee, on both
design and construction management . for other OSP
designers.
2011 I also did contracting work on Windstream Communications property
again in Nebraska, Iowa and Georgia. Projects included re-routing conduit
runs from Manhole to manhole as well as rebuilding manholes and changing
complicated cable counts, cable re routes due to railroad intersection
changes and overpass construction, held orders, Fiber to the Cell Tower, etc.
I permitted these projects as well as drafted them. 2011-2013 I worked on Kentucky Data Link property in Ft. Smith, AR and Lawton,
OK both in aerial design and support. I
worked on Frontier Comm. property doing OSP design and drafted in CADTEL
systems. I worked on aerial and buried cable projects ranging
from cable replacement to Fiber to the Cell Towers. I also worked on road
moves/bridge replacements etc. Met with both customers and technicians to
determine cable extensions, cable trouble issues, pedestal moves etc. From
October of 2011 to January of 2013 I worked as a contractor to Nebraska Link
LLC doing both OSP Design and construction inspection, I designed much of
Lexington, NE(mostly aerial, some buried) and Grand Island,NE as well as
several other small communities and fiber to the cell tower , I also provided
additional inspectors/designers as requested. 2013 I worked as a contractor to Frontier Communications in Columbus, NE
through Synergy as a Network Engineer(OSP) where I worked with road
moves, bridge replacements, cable extensions, new subdivisions,
and one major project that I worked with in this time frame was the
rearranging and completion of a botched project from a previous engineer in a
rural cross box. 2013-2014
We moved to Arizona in June of 2013, I worked on
a temp job running CAT5 cabling and terminating on a college campus and also
performed inventory on another campus. Then I worked from September
2013 to February 2014 as a subcontractor to the Gila River Telecom south of
Phoenix as a construction inspector working on a FTTH project until they had
issues with the BIA permits, at which time I was laid off. I also took a
course through CenturyLink during this period on Prism TV engineering. .
